Our History

In June 1996 Pastor Dian Warep left his teaching career in respond to the call of God and in respond to a need in his village community which is prevalent in most communities around the nation. The greatest need he saw was that someone of his caliber had to go back to the community and live with the people and than educate them to break free from the curses such as poverty, illiteracy, inequality, sickness etc. that was tormenting them. He saw that lack of proper knowledge and understanding as well as lack of proper attitude towards changes was the major contributing factor to a deteriorating state of affairs in those communities. He lived with the people and began to lead the people out of the bad conditions by showing them the ways of God and initiating self-help projects rather than looking to others with a free handout mentality. He did not only teach them the right way of living but practically demonstrated the Christian principles through his own life.
By God’s grace he showed the people of Tsak Valley (25,000-30,000) how to live a honest and transparent Christian life; he showed them how to construct roads and bridges without government assistance; he showed them how to build a leadership training school without looking to the government for assistance; he showed them how to improve their living conditions by changing their wrong attitudes and living by Christian principles that are revealed in the Bible.
The principles he taught began to affect the people’s way of living. Those people who have been ingrained in evil and curses began to experience changes in their attitude and behavior towards one another and towards the wider community. A Valley that was well known for tribal fights and criminal activities began to experience peace, harmony and respect for one another. Guns, ammunitions and other destructives weapons used by criminals to destroy other people and communities were surrounded to him and the police department. Peace and harmony took over the entire Valley where they have been living in hostility and backwardness. Even entire tribes are beginning to commit their lives to live peacefully in the Valley. The news of what happened in Tsak Valley began to affect other communities who go through similar problems in their lives. They flood into the Valley to see for themselves what had happened and also to learn the principles that were employed to bring about transformation in the Tsak Valley. Many villages and communities in PNG who wanted to see the same sort of things happen in their own locality came too. So a school was established in 2002 to educate them so that they too can go back and apply the same technology. The school is a two module course that was designed by Dr Dian Warep to bring about community transformation. After students complete the course and go to their respective places, they too begin to experience the same transforming power of God in their own lives and in their own communities. These people and communities were advised or told to sustain and monitor the progress through the establishing of a local church in that locality. Without a local church the work will be short lived and lack the foresight and the insight to maintain it to impact the generations to come. Thus, from 1996 to 2018, about 300 local territorial churches have been planted across the nation. The springing up of over 300 churches plus the genuine commitment by the mainline/denominational churches to embrace what God has birthed in remote Tsak Valley necessitated the birthing of this RMCN network to give clear definition to what God is doing in Papua New Guinea.
